This is the mathematical core of derivatives pricing and dynamic optimization: diffusions and jump processes for prices, stochastic volatility (Heston, SABR, rough Bergomi) for option surfaces, backward SDEs and PDEs for valuation under frictions, and HJB equations for consumption, liquidation, and hedging problems. Papers here score high on math complexity almost by construction; the question is what they do on the empirical axis.
What to check when reading. Many papers in this family are theoretical by design and should be read as such: the contribution is a closed form, an existence result, or a numerical scheme. When a paper does claim market relevance, look for calibration to real option surfaces or realized paths with reported fit errors, out-of-sample pricing or hedging error rather than in-sample calibration, and an honest statement of what the model cannot reproduce (the ATM skew term structure is the usual casualty).
Ghost, or fictitious points allow to capture boundary conditions that are not located on the finite difference grid discretization. We explore in this paper the impact of ghost points on the stability of the explicit Euler finite difference scheme in the context of the diffusion equation. In particu

In this paper we further extend the optimal bubble riding model proposed by Tangpi and Wang by allowing for price-dependent entry times. Agents are characterized by their individual entry threshold that represents their belief in the strength of the bubble. Conversely, the growth dynamics of the bub
In this paper, we extend the market price of risk for delivery periods (MPDP) of electricity swap contracts by introducing a dimension for jump risk. As introduced by Kemper et al. We introduce the possibility of default in the mean field game of mutual holding of Djete and Touzi [11]. This is modeled by introducing absorption at the origin of the equity process. We provide an explicit solution of this mean field game. Moreover, we provide a particle system approximation, and
We study the upper hedging price for contingent claims in market models with strong types of arbitrage: increasing profit, strong arbitrage, and arbitrage of the first kind. The existence of arbitrage may make the price smaller than if it did not exist. For example, when the asset price process has
Volatility Skew and Smile of Interest Rate products (Swaption and Caplet) are represented by SABR (Stochastic Alpha Beta Rho model). Deep learning models are effective for sequential data modeling, yet commonly used activation functions such as ReLU, LeakyReLU, and PReLU often exhibit gradient instability when applied to noisy, non-stationary financial time series. This article constructs a forward exponential utility in a market with multiple defaultable risks. Using the Jacod-Pham decomposition for random fields, we first characterize forward performance processes in a defaultable market under the default-free filtration. We then construct a forward utility
We consider a system of $N$ Hawkes processes and observe the actions of a subpopulation of size $K \le N$ up to time $t$, where $K$ is large. The influence relationships between each pair of individuals are modeled by i.i.d.Bernoulli($p$) random variables, where $p \in [0,1]$ is an unknown parameter
The aim of this article is to provide a firm mathematical foundation for the application of deep gradient flow methods (DGFMs) for the solution of (high-dimensional) partial differential equations (PDEs). We decompose the generalization error of DGFMs into an approximation and a training error. We f
In the present paper, we study the near-maturity ($t\rightarrow T^{-}$) convergence rate of the optimal early-exercise price $b(t)$ of an American put under an exponential Lévy model with a {\it nonzero} Brownian component. Two important settings, not previous covered in the literature, are consider
We establish $L^p$-type universal approximation theorems for general and non-anticipative functionals on suitable rough path spaces, showing that linear functionals acting on signatures of time-extended rough paths are dense with respect to an $L^p$-distance. To that end, we derive global universal

We study an extension of the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) process that incorporates jumps at deterministic dates, referred to as stochastic discontinuities. Our main motivation stems from short-rate modelling in the context of overnight rates, which often exhibit jumps at predetermined dates correspondi
This paper presents a unified exposition of rough path methods applied to optimal control, robust filtering, and optimal stopping, addressing a notable gap in the existing literature where no single treatment covers all three areas. Based on the theory of càdlàg rough paths, we develop a pathwise approach to analyze stability and approximation properties of portfolios along individual price trajectories generated by standard models of financial markets. As a prototypical example from portfolio theory, we study the log-optimal p
This paper considers a continuous time Kyle-Back model which is a game problem between an insider and a market marker. The existing literature typically focuses on the existence of equilibrium by using the PDE approach, which requires certain Markovian structure and the equilibrium is in the bridge
The existence of optimal contracts of the principal-agent problem is a long-standing problem. According to the general framework in Cvitanić et al. Given $μ$ and $ν$, probability measures on $\mathbb R^d$ in convex order, a Bass martingale is arguably the most natural martingale starting with law $μ$ and finishing with law $ν$. Indeed, this martingale is obtained by stretching a reference Brownian motion so as to meet the data $μ,ν$. Unless $μ$

We establish a probabilistic framework for analysing extended mean-field games with multi-dimensional singular controls and state-dependent jump dynamics and costs. Two key challenges arise when analysing such games: the state dynamics may not depend continuously on the control and the reward functi
We prove that the long-run behavior of Hawkes processes is fully determined by the average number and the dispersion of child events. We propose an interactive robo-advising framework that learns personalized risk preferences from scores provided by clients. The resulting preference-learning problem is closely related to inverse reinforcement learning (IRL), as the robo-advisor infers the client’s latent reward specification from
We study scaled trinomial models converging to the Black–Scholes model, and analyze exponential certainty-equivalent prices for path-dependent European options. As the number of trading dates $n$ tends to infinity and the risk aversion is scaled as $nl$ for a fixed constant $l>0$, we derive a nontr
We formulate a dynamic reinsurance problem in which the insurer seeks to control the terminal distribution of its surplus while minimizing the L2-norm of the ceded risk. Forward-backwards stochastic differential equations (FBSDEs) play an important role in optimal control, game theory, economics, mathematical finance, and in reinforcement learning. Unfortunately, the available FBSDE solvers operate on \textit{“individual”} FBSDEs, meaning that they cannot provide a
How should a court resolve a shareholder-management dispute after an unexpected price drop, when it is suspected that at an earlier time management chose not to update (disclose to) the market about a material event that was privately observed? An earlier fundamental result in this area (Dye, 2017)
We consider the eigenvectors of the principal minor of dimension $n< N$ of the Dyson Brownian motion in $\mathbb{R}^{N}$ and investigate their asymptotic overlaps with the eigenvectors of the full matrix in the limit of large dimension. In intertemporal settings, the multiattribute utility theory of Kihlstrom and Mirman suggests the application of a concave transform of the lifetime utility index. This construction, while allowing time and risk attitudes to be separated, leads to dynamically inconsistent preferences. We address thi
Since the advent of generative artificial intelligence, every company and researcher has been rushing to develop their own generative models, whether commercial or not. We prove the strong existence and uniqueness of the solution, establishing the well-posedness o
Change of numeraire is a classical tool in mathematical finance. Campi-Laachir-Martini established its applicability to martingale optimal transport. We note that the results of Campi-Laachir-Martini extend to the case of weak martingale transport. We apply this to shadow couplings, continuous time
The gas fee, paid for inclusion in the blockchain, is analyzed in two parts. In this paper, we present an alternative perspective on the mean-field LIBOR market model introduced by Desmettre et al. in arXiv:2109.10779. Our novel approach embeds the mean-field model in a classical setup, but retains the crucial feature of controlling the term rate’s variances over large time
We employ scoring functions, used in statistics for eliciting risk functionals, as cost functions in the Monge-Kantorovich (MK) optimal transport problem. This gives raise to a rich variety of novel asymmetric MK divergences, which subsume the family of Bregman-Wasserstein divergences. We show that
Cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin, in particular, are prone to wild swings resulting in frequent jumps in prices, making them historically popular for traders to speculate. A better understanding of these fluctuations can greatly benefit crypto investors by allowing them to make informed decisions. It is
