This is the mathematical core of derivatives pricing and dynamic optimization: diffusions and jump processes for prices, stochastic volatility (Heston, SABR, rough Bergomi) for option surfaces, backward SDEs and PDEs for valuation under frictions, and HJB equations for consumption, liquidation, and hedging problems. Papers here score high on math complexity almost by construction; the question is what they do on the empirical axis.
What to check when reading. Many papers in this family are theoretical by design and should be read as such: the contribution is a closed form, an existence result, or a numerical scheme. When a paper does claim market relevance, look for calibration to real option surfaces or realized paths with reported fit errors, out-of-sample pricing or hedging error rather than in-sample calibration, and an honest statement of what the model cannot reproduce (the ATM skew term structure is the usual casualty).
Focusing on gains & losses relative to a risk-free benchmark instead of terminal wealth, we consider an asset allocation problem to maximize time-consistently a mean-risk reward function with a general risk measure which is i) law-invariant, ii) cash- or shift-invariant, and iii) positively homogene
We propose a financial market model that comprises a savings account and a stock. The stock price process is modeled as a one-dimensional diffusion, in which two types of agents exist: an ordinary investor and a fundraiser who buys or sells stocks as funding activities. Although the investor informa
We study the expected utility portfolio optimization problem in an incomplete financial market where the risky asset dynamics depend on stochastic factors and the portfolio allocation is constrained to lie within a given convex set. Optimal investment strategies of an individual worker during the accumulation phase in the defined contribution pension scheme have been well studied in the literature. Most of them adopted the classical backward model and approach, but any pre-specifications of retirement time, preferences, and mar
This paper presents a novel approach to predicting stock prices using technical analysis. By utilizing Ito’s lemma and Euler-Maruyama methods, the researchers develop Heston and Geometric Brownian Motion models that take into account volatility, interest rate, and historical stock prices to generate
This article investigates the Fokker-Planck equations that arise from the application of quantum stochastic calculus to the modelling of illiquid financial markets, using asymptotic methods. We consider a version of the continuous-time multi-armed bandit problem where decision opportunities arrive at Poisson arrival times, and study its Gittins index policy. When driven by spectrally one-sided Lévy processes, the Gittins index can be written explicitly in terms of the scale function, an
This paper investigates a Stackelberg game between an insurer and a reinsurer under the $α$-maxmin mean-variance criterion. The insurer can purchase per-loss reinsurance from the reinsurer. With the insurer’s feedback reinsurance strategy, the reinsurer optimizes the reinsurance premium in the Stack
This paper extends the utility maximization literature by combining partial information and (robust) regulatory constraints. Partial information is characterized by the fact that the stock price itself is observable by the optimizing financial institution, but the outcome of the market price of the
This paper investigates dynamic and static fund separations and their stability for long-term optimal investments under three model classes. An investor maximizes the expected utility with constant relative risk aversion under an incomplete market consisting of a safe asset, several risky assets, an
We consider an optimal dividend payout problem for an insurance company whose surplus follows the classical Cramér-Lundberg model. The dividend rate is subject to a ratcheting constraint (i.e., it must be nondecreasing over time), and the company may inject capital at a proportional cost to avoid ru
We investigate stability properties of weak supermartingale optimal transport (WSOT) problems on $\mathbb{R}$. For probability measures $μ,ν\in\mathcal{P}r$ satisfying $μ\leq{cd} ν$ (equivalently, $Π_S(μ,ν)\neq\emptyset$), we consider supermartingale couplings $π=μ(d x)π_x(d y)$ and the weak trans
Turnpike theorems state that if an investor’s utility is asymptotically equivalent to a power utility, then the optimal investment strategy converges to the CRRA strategy as the investment horizon tends to infinity. This paper aims to derive the convergence rates of the turnpike theorem for optimal
We introduce a mild generative variant of the classical neural operator model, which leverages Kolmogorov–Arnold networks to solve infinite families of second-order backward stochastic differential equations ($2$BSDEs) on regular bounded Euclidean domains with random terminal time. We investigate a Kyle model under Gaussian assumptions where a risk-averse informed trader has imperfect information on the fundamental price of an asset. We show that an equilibrium can be constructed by considering an optimal transport problem that is solved under a measure that renders the utilit
In this paper, we introduce the second-order Esscher pricing notion for continuous-time models. Depending whether the stock price $S$ or its logarithm is the main driving noise/shock in the Esscher definition, we obtained two classes of second-order Esscher densities called linear class and exponent
We consider both $N$-player and mean-field games of optimal portfolio liquidation in which the players are not allowed to change the direction of trading. Players with an initially short position of stocks are only allowed to buy while players with an initially long position are only allowed to sell
We investigate duality and existence of dual optimizers for several adapted optimal transport problems under minimal assumptions. While many questions in robust finance can be posed in the martingale optimal transport framework or its weak extension, others like the subreplication price of VIX futures, the robust pricing of American options or the construction of shadow couplings necessitate additional information to be incorp
In this paper, using the mean-field game theory, we study a problem of equilibrium price formation among many investors with exponential utility in the presence of liabilities unspanned by the security prices. We investigate the martingale Schrödinger bridge, recently introduced by Nutz and Wiesel as a distinguished martingale transport plan between two probability measures in convex order. We show that this construction extends naturally to arbitrary dimension and admits several equivalent characterizati
Stochastic resetting has attracted significant attention in recent years due to its wide-ranging applications across physics, biology, and search processes. In most existing studies, however, resetting events are governed by an external timer and remain decoupled from the system’s intrinsic dynamics
This paper addresses the challenge of time-inconsistent stochastic control within a continuous-time framework. Its primary focus lies in uncovering a probabilistic representation, specifically in the shape of a system of backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs). These equations encapsulate
We study the estimation of repeatedly nested expectations (RNEs) with a constant horizon (number of nestings) using quantum computing. We give a new formulation of the relative arbitrage problem from stochastic portfolio theory that asks for a time horizon beyond which arbitrage relative to the market exists in all sufficiently volatile'' markets. In our formulation, sufficiently volatile’’ is interpreted as a lower bound on an
In cryptocurrency markets, a key challenge for perpetual future issuers is maintaining alignment between the perpetual future price and target value. This study addresses this challenge by exploring the relationship between funding rates and perpetual future prices. Our results demonstrate that by a
We study mean field portfolio games under Epstein-Zin preferences, which naturally encompass the classical time-additive power utility as a special case. In this paper, we examine a modified version of de Finetti’s optimal dividend problem, incorporating fixed transaction costs and altering the surplus process by introducing two-valued drift and two-valued volatility coefficients. This modification aims to capture the transitions or adjustments in th
In this paper, we establish general scaling limits for nearly unstable Hawkes processes in a mean-field regime by extending the method introduced by Jaisson and Rosenbaum. We consider multiperiod stochastic control problems with non-parametric uncertainty on the underlying probabilistic model. We derive a new metric on the space of probability measures, called the adapted $(p, \infty)$–Wasserstein distance $\mathcal{AW}_p^\infty$ with the following properties: (1) th
We consider a stock that follows a geometric Brownian motion (GBM) and a riskless asset continuously compounded at a constant rate. We assume that the stock can go bankrupt, i.e., lose all of its value, at some exogenous random time (independent of the stock price) modeled as the first arrival time
We consider one-dimensional stochastic Volterra equations with jumps for which we establish conditions upon the convolution kernel and coefficients for the strong existence and pathwise uniqueness of a non-negative càdlàg solution. We study a martingale Schrödinger bridge problem: given two probability distributions, find their martingale coupling with minimal relative entropy. Our main result provides Schrödinger potentials for this coupling. Namely, under certain conditions, the log-density of the optimal coupling is given b
We extend the notion of forward performance criteria to settings with random endowment in incomplete markets. In this paper we study a time-inconsistent portfolio optimization problem for competitive agents with CARA utilities and non-exponential discounting. The utility of each agent depends on her own wealth and consumption as well as the relative wealth and consumption to her competitors. Due to the pres
We expose a simple solution of the consumption-investment problem pair trading. The proof is based on the remark that the HJB equation can be reduced to a linear parabolic equation solvable explicitly.
A typical approach to tackle stochastic control problems with partial observation is to separate the control and estimation tasks. However, it is well known that this separation generally fails to deliver an actual optimal solution for risk-sensitive control problems. This paper investigates the sep
We consider Geometric Mean Market Makers – a special type of Decentralized Exchange – with two types of users: liquidity takers and arbitrageurs. Liquidity takers trade at prices that can create arbitrage opportunities, while arbitrageurs align the exchange’s price with the external market price.
We consider a novel class of portfolio liquidation games with market drop-out (“absorption”). More precisely, we consider mean-field and finite player liquidation games where a player drops out of the market when her position hits zero. In particular round-trips are not admissible. We extend the results of (Liu and Firoozi, 2025), which develops the theory of linear-quadratic (LQ) mean field games (MFGs) in Hilbert spaces, by incorporating a common noise. Strassen’s theorem asserts that for given marginal probabilities $μ,ν$ there exists a martingale starting in $μ$ and terminating in $ν$ if and only if $μ,ν$ are in convex order. From a financial perspective, it guarantees the existence of market-consistent martingale pricing measures for arbitrage-f
Prediction models calibrated using historical data may forecast poorly if the dynamics of the present and future differ from observations in the past. For this reason, predictions can be improved if information like forward looking views about the state of the system are used to refine the forecast.
This study explores the behavioral dynamics of illiquid stock prices in a listed stock market. Illiquidity, characterized by wide bid and ask spreads affects price formation by decoupling prices from standard risk and return relationships and increasing sensitivity to market sentiment. We model the
Hawkes processes were first introduced to obtain microscopic models for the rough volatility observed in asset prices. Scaling limits of such processes leads to the rough-Heston model that describes the macroscopic behavior. Blanc et al. (2017) show that Time-reversal asymmetry (TRA) or the Zumbach
We study regularity properties of the unique solution of a mean-field $G$-SDE. More precisely, we consider a mean-field $G$-SDE with square-integrable random initial condition and establish its first and second order Fréchet differentiability in the random initial condition and specify the $G$-SDEs
In this paper we study the pricing and hedging of nonreplicable contingent claims, such as long-term insurance contracts like variable annuities. Our approach is based on the benchmark-neutral pricing framework of Platen (2024), which differs from the classical benchmark approach by using the stock
We propose a stochastic game modelling the strategic interaction between market makers and traders of optimal execution type. For traders, the permanent price impact commonly attributed to them is replaced by quoting strategies implemented by market makers. For market makers, order flows become endo
We derive a functional Itô-formula for non-anticipative maps of rough paths, based on the approximation properties of the signature of càdlàg rough paths. This result is a functional extension of the Itô-formula for càdlàg rough paths (by Friz and Zhang (2018)), which coincides with the change of va
We establish deterministic necessary and sufficient conditions for the no-arbitrage notions “no increasing profit” (NIP), “no strong arbitrage” (NSA) and “no unbounded profit with bounded risk” (NUPBR) in one-dimensional general diffusion markets. We analyze a continuous-time optimal trade execution problem in multiple assets where the price impact and the resilience can be matrix-valued stochastic processes that incorporate cross-impact effects. In addition, we allow for stochastic terminal and running targets. Initially, we formulate the op
As operators acting on the undetermined final settlement of a derivative security, expectation is linear but price is non-linear. When the market of underlying securities is incomplete, non-linearity emerges from the bid-offer around the mid price that accounts for the residual risks of the optimal

We model the evolution of liquidity profiles as measure-valued processes and characterize their dynamics under continuous
We study partial information Nash equilibrium between a broker and an informed trader. In this setting, the informed trader, who possesses knowledge of a trading signal, trades multiple assets with the broker in a dealer market. This paper analyzes the equilibrium of insurance market in a dynamic setting, focusing on the interaction between insurers’ underwriting and investment strategies. Three possible equilibrium outcomes are identified: a positive insurance market, a zero insurance market, and market failure. Our findin
In this work, we address the optimal retirement problem in the presence of a stochastic wage, formulated as a free boundary problem. Specifically, we explore an incomplete market setting where the wage cannot be perfectly hedged through investments in the risk-free and risky assets that characterize
Milionis et al.(2023) studied the rate at which automated market makers leak value to arbitrageurs when block times are discrete and follow a Poisson process, and where the risky asset price follows a geometric Brownian motion. We extend their model to analyze another popular mechanism in decentrali
We obtain the first probabilistic proof of continuous differentiability of time-dependent optimal boundaries in optimal stopping problems. The underlying stochastic dynamics is a one-dimensional, time-inhomogeneous diffusion. The gain function is also time-inhomogeneous and not necessarily smooth. M
The classic stochastic Fubini theorem says that if one stochastically integrates with respect to a semimartingale $S$ an $η(dz)$-mixture of $z$-parametrized integrands $ψ^z$, the result is just the $η(dz)$-mixture of the individual $z$-parametrized stochastic integrals $\intψ^z{d}S.$ But if one want
This paper presents a comprehensive study of linear-quadratic (LQ) mean field games (MFGs) in Hilbert spaces, generalizing the classic LQ MFG theory to scenarios involving $N$ agents with dynamics governed by infinite-dimensional stochastic equations. In this paper, we study a disordered pinning model induced by a random walk whose increments have a finite $(2+κ)$-th moment for some $κ>0$. We extend the notion of mean-field SDEs to SDEs driven by $G$-Brownian motion. More precisely, we consider a $G$-SDE where the coefficients depend not only on time and the current state but also on the solution as random variable.
In this paper we introduce a definition of a multi-dimensional fractional Brownian motion of Hurst index $H \in (0, 1)$ under volatility uncertainty (in short G-fBm). We study the properties of such a process and provide first results about stochastic calculus with respect to a fractional G-Brownian
This paper investigates the consumption and investment decisions of an individual facing uncertain lifespan and stochastic labor income within a Black-Scholes market framework. In this paper, we study a non-zero-sum game with two players, where each of the players plays what we call Bermudan strategies and optimizes a general non-linear assessment functional of the pay-off. By using a recursive construction, we show that the game has a Nash equilibrium point.
This paper is concerned with zero-sum stochastic linear-quadratic differential games in a regime switching model. The coefficients of the games depend on the underlying noises, so it is a non-Markovian regime switching model. Based on the solutions of a new kind of multidimensional indefinite stocha
