This is the mathematical core of derivatives pricing and dynamic optimization: diffusions and jump processes for prices, stochastic volatility (Heston, SABR, rough Bergomi) for option surfaces, backward SDEs and PDEs for valuation under frictions, and HJB equations for consumption, liquidation, and hedging problems. Papers here score high on math complexity almost by construction; the question is what they do on the empirical axis.
What to check when reading. Many papers in this family are theoretical by design and should be read as such: the contribution is a closed form, an existence result, or a numerical scheme. When a paper does claim market relevance, look for calibration to real option surfaces or realized paths with reported fit errors, out-of-sample pricing or hedging error rather than in-sample calibration, and an honest statement of what the model cannot reproduce (the ATM skew term structure is the usual casualty).
Neural SDEs are continuous-time generative models for sequential data. State-of-the-art performance for irregular time series generation has been previously obtained by training these models adversarially as GANs. However, as typical for GAN architectures, training is notoriously unstable, often suf
This paper studies the multi-period mean-variance portfolio allocation problem with transaction costs. Many methods have been proposed these last years to challenge the famous uni-period Markowitz strategy. But these methods cannot integrate transaction costs or become computationally heavy and hardl
Monte Carlo (MC) simulations are widely used in financial risk management, from estimating value-at-risk (VaR) to pricing over-the-counter derivatives. However, they come at a significant computational cost due to the number of scenarios required for convergence. If a probability distribution is ava
We analyze the scaled voter model, which is a generalization of the noisy voter model with time-dependent herding behavior. We consider the case when the intensity of herding behavior grows as a power-law function of time. In this case, the scaled voter model reduces to the usual noisy voter model,
Path dependence is omnipresent in many disciplines such as engineering, system theory and finance. It reflects the influence of the past on the future, often expressed through functionals. However, non-Markovian problems are often infinite-dimensional, thus challenging from a conceptual and computat
We study an implementation of the theoretical splitting scheme introduced in [Chassagneux and Yang, 2022] for singular FBSDEs [Carmona and Delarue 2013] and their associated quasi-linear degenerate PDEs. The fully implementable algorithm is based on particles approximation of the transport operator
We consider a class of stochastic processes with rough stochastic volatility, examples of which include the rough Bergomi and rough Stein-Stein model, that have gained considerable importance in quantitative finance. A basic question for such (non-Markovian) models concerns efficient numerical schem
Model risk arises from the misspecification of probabilistic models used for pricing and hedging derivatives. While model risk for European-style claims has been widely studied, much less attention has been given to American-style derivatives and the associated optimal stopping problems. This paper
We investigate the performance of the Kelly rule in a setting in which the dynamics of the return is represented by a time change process. We find that in this general semi-martingale setting the Kelly rule does not maximize the average growth rate, unless the log-return is normally distributed. Nam
The paper treats the financial market as a communication system, using four information-theoretic assumptions to derive an idealized model with only one parameter. State variables are scalar stationary diffusions. The model minimizes the surprisal of the market and the Kullback-Leibler divergence be
In this paper, we study an investor’s optimal entry and exit decisions in a liquid staking protocol (LSP) and an automated market maker (AMM), primarily from the standpoint of the investor. Our analysis focuses on two key investor actions: the initial allocation decision at time $t=0$, and the optim
Quantilized mean-field game models involve quantiles of the population’s distribution. We study a class of such games with a capacity for ranking games, where the performance of each agent is evaluated based on its terminal state relative to the population’s $α$-quantile value, $α\in (0,1)$. This ev
In this paper, we consider catastrophe stop-loss reinsurance valuation for a reinsurance company with dynamic contagion claims. To deal with conventional and emerging catastrophic events, we propose the use of a compound dynamic contagion process for the catastrophic component of the liability. Unde
In this paper, we present Deep-MacroFin, a comprehensive framework designed to solve partial differential equations, with a particular focus on models in continuous time economics. Travel time derivatives are financial instruments that derive their value from road travel times, serving as an underlying asset that cannot be directly traded. Within the transportation domain, these derivatives are proposed as a more comprehensive approach to value pricing. They enable road pricin
We model market impact as the response to submitted order flow net of counterflow from latent traders, activated when price displacements from the level that would prevail without the order exceed individual thresholds. Order flow depletes this pool, and a generalized Langevin equation governs its r
In a finite discrete-time market, trading decisions may be predictable with respect to a filtration that does not adapt asset prices. The first fundamental theorem then characterizes absence of arbitrage by measures under which the optional projection of discounted prices is a martingale. We examine
We develop a stochastic game-theoretic model for intraday dispatch of grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESSs). We assume that each BESS operator competitively manages her state-of-charge to maximize energy arbitrage revenues, driven by the endogenized electricity price that depends on the
In American options, the early exercise feature allows the option to be exercised at any time prior to expiration. However, this flexibility introduces a challenge: the pricing model must value the option while simultaneously determining an unknown, time-varying exercise boundary. The Heston model i

We study a benchmarked risk-sensitive portfolio problem in a factor-based setting to bring together three strands of the literature: benchmarked risk-sensitive investment management, the Kuroda-Nagai change-of-measure method, and the free energy-entropy duality of Dai Pra et al. (1996). We show that
G-expectation, as a sublinear expectation, provides a powerful framework for modeling uncertainty in financial markets. Motivated by the need for robust valuation under model uncertainty, this work develops a unified risk-neutral valuation approach within the G-expectation environment, yielding a no
We consider the problem of active portfolio management, where an investor seeks the portfolio with maximal expected utility of the difference between the terminal wealth of their strategy and a proportion of the benchmark’s, subject to a budget and a deviation constraint from the benchmark portfolio
We study the aggregate hazard rate of a heterogeneous population whose individual event intensities are modeled as Cox (doubly stochastic) processes. In the deterministic hazard setting, the observed pool hazard is the survival weighted mean of the individual hazards, and its time derivative equals
We study market making in aggregator-routed RFQ markets where platform routing depends on slowly varying dealer performance scores. We study an OTC FX market-making problem, built on the Avellaneda-Stoikov tradition, in which a dealer streams size-dependent quotes on a discrete ladder and manages inventory risk over a finite horizon under Poisson arrivals of trade requests. Adverse selection is modelled through latency-driven pr
We explore local risk-minimization, a quadratic hedging method for incomplete markets, in exponential additive models. The bounded mean betting procedure serves as a crucial interface between the domains of (1) sequential, anytime-valid statistical inference, and (2) online learning and portfolio selection algorithms. While recent work in both domains has established the exponential wealth growth of numerous betting
The decision to annuitize wealth in retirement planning has become increasingly complex due to rising longevity risk and changing retirement patterns, including increased labor force participation at older ages. While an extensive literature studies consumption, labor, and annuitization decisions, t
We consider an agent who has access to a financial market, including derivative contracts, who looks to maximise her utility. Whilst the agent looks to maximise utility over one probability measure, or class of probability measures, she must also ensure that the mark-to-market value of her portfolio
We study a continuous-time portfolio choice problem for an investor whose state-dependent preferences are determined by an exogenous factor that evolves as an Itô diffusion process. True Volterra equations are inherently non stationary and therefore do not admit $\textit{genuine stationary regimes}$ over finite horizons. We develop a robust linear-quadratic mean-field control framework for systemic risk under model uncertainty, in which a central bank jointly optimizes interest rate policy and supervisory monitoring intensity against adversarial distortions. Our model features multiple policy instruments with intera
Despite decades of research in risk management, most of the literature has focused on scalar risk measures (like e.g. Value-at-Risk and Expected Shortfall). While such scalar measures provide compact and tractable summaries, they provide a poor informative value as they miss the intrinsic multivaria
Given the increasing importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, particularly carbon emissions, we investigate optimal proportional portfolio insurance (PPI) strategies accounting for carbon footprint reduction. With the reform of interest rate benchmarks, interbank offered rates (IBORs) like LIBOR have been replaced by risk-free rates (RFRs), such as the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) in the U.S. and the Euro Short-Term Rate (\euro STR) in Europe. These rates exhibit characteristics like jumps and
