Fixed income is where quantitative finance’s modeling tradition runs deepest and data runs thinnest. This hub covers term-structure models (affine, HJM-lineage, and their ML successors), yield-curve forecasting, bond risk premia, and credit — spread dynamics, default modeling, and corporate bond market structure.
Two things distinguish strong papers here. First, honest treatment of the small-sample problem: there are only a handful of independent interest-rate cycles in any dataset, so out-of-sample claims rest on far less evidence than equity research enjoys, and papers that acknowledge regime dependence (pre/post-2008 zero-rate era, the 2022 repricing) age better. Second, attention to market plumbing — corporate bond research that ignores dealer intermediation costs and stale quotes produces backtests no desk can trade. The intersection with machine learning is growing fast, but the base rates favor parsimonious models in this asset class more than anywhere else.

Observation-driven Dirichlet models for compositional time series commonly use the additive log-ratio (ALR) link and include a moving-average (MA) term based on ALR residuals. In the standard Bayesian Dirichlet Auto-Regressive Moving-Average (B-DARMA) recursion, this MA regressor has a nonzero condi
We propose ARBITER, a risk-neutral neural operator for learning joint SPX-VIX term structures under no-arbitrage constraints. ARBITER maps market states to an operator that outputs implied volatility and variance curves while enforcing static arbitrage (calendar, vertical, butterfly), Lipschitz boun
We present a new model for commodity pricing that enhances accuracy by integrating four distinct risk factors: spot price, stochastic volatility, convenience yield, and stochastic interest rates. While the influence of these four variables on commodity futures prices is well recognized, their combin
The additive process generalizes the Lévy process by relaxing its assumption of time-homogeneous increments and hence covers a larger family of stochastic processes. Recent research in option pricing shows that modeling the underlying log price with an additive process has advantages in easier const
We investigate the application of quantum cognition machine learning (QCML), a novel paradigm for both supervised and unsupervised learning tasks rooted in the mathematical formalism of quantum theory, to distance metric learning in corporate bond markets. Compared to equities, corporate bonds are r
We develop an arbitrage-free deep learning framework for yield curve and bond price forecasting based on the Heath-Jarrow-Morton (HJM) term-structure model and a dynamic Nelson-Siegel parameterization of forward rates. Our approach embeds a no-arbitrage drift restriction into a neural state-space ar
This study focuses on forecasting the ultimate forward rate (UFR) and developing a UFRbased bond yield prediction model using data from Chinese treasury bonds and macroeconomic variables spanning from December 2009 to December 2024. The de Kort-Vellekooptype methodology is applied to estimate the UF
The SABR model is a cornerstone of interest rate volatility modeling, but its practical application relies heavily on the analytical approximation by Hagan et al., whose accuracy deteriorates for high volatility, long maturities, and out-of-the-money options, admitting arbitrage. While machine learn
We introduce the Volterra Stein-Stein model with stochastic interest rates, where both volatility and interest rates are driven by correlated Gaussian Volterra processes. This framework unifies various well-known Markovian and non-Markovian models while preserving analytical tractability for pricing
In this article, we delve into the applications and extensions of the queue-reactive model for the simulation of limit order books. Our approach emphasizes the importance of order sizes, in conjunction with their type and arrival rate, by integrating the current state of the order book to determine,
This paper explores the implications of using machine learning models in the pricing of catastrophe (CAT) bonds. By integrating advanced machine learning techniques, our approach uncovers nonlinear relationships and complex interactions between key risk factors and CAT bond spreads – dynamics that a
We develop and implement a non-parametric method for joint exact calibration of a local volatility model and a correlated stochastic short rate model using semimartingale optimal transport. The method relies on the duality results established in Joseph, Loeper, and Obloj, 2023 and jointly calibrates
Tokenized equities trade while listed markets are closed, so their marks could improve off-hours measurement along layered exposures that link Bitcoin, crypto-treasury stocks, and leveraged ETFs. A token return and the next opening gap, however, share the price move from the previous close to the to
Regime-switching multi-factor models are widely used in quantitative finance, but filtering does not by itself determine when an agent should act on inferred regime changes. We formulate online regime detection with latent factors and hidden regimes as a Bayesian decision problem balancing false ala
We examine the conditional volatility dynamics of the USD 1Yx10Y forward swap rate using GARCH(1,1), GJR-GARCH(1,1), and a two-regime Markov-switching GARCH (MSGARCH) model. The analysis uses daily data from 2007 to 2023 and incorporates market-implied measures (ATM swaption volatility and the SRVIX
Can contagion be inferred from aggregated default data? We study this as a problem of identifiability, asking whether contagion generates components in default count distributions that remain distinct from those induced by macroeconomic fluctuations. We compare three dependence structures: cumulativ
Evaluating rare-event forecasts is challenging because standard metrics collapse as event prevalence declines. Measures such as F1-score, AUPRC, MCC, and accuracy induce degenerate thresholds – converging to zero or one – and their values become dominated by class imbalance rather than tail discri
Surety bonds are financial agreements between a contractor (principal) and obligee (project owner) to complete a project. However, most large-scale projects involve multiple contractors, creating a network and introducing the possibility of incomplete obligations to propagate and result in project f
This paper examines the empirical failure of uncovered interest parity (UIP) and proposes a structural explanation based on a mean-reverting risk premium. We define a realized premium as the deviation between observed exchange rate returns and the interest rate differential, and demonstrate its stro
Inflation prediction guides decisions on interest rates, investments, and wages, playing a key role in economic stability. Yet accurate forecasting is challenging due to dynamic factors and the layered structure of the Consumer Price Index, which organizes goods and services into multiple categories
