Fixed income is where quantitative finance’s modeling tradition runs deepest and data runs thinnest. This hub covers term-structure models (affine, HJM-lineage, and their ML successors), yield-curve forecasting, bond risk premia, and credit — spread dynamics, default modeling, and corporate bond market structure.
Two things distinguish strong papers here. First, honest treatment of the small-sample problem: there are only a handful of independent interest-rate cycles in any dataset, so out-of-sample claims rest on far less evidence than equity research enjoys, and papers that acknowledge regime dependence (pre/post-2008 zero-rate era, the 2022 repricing) age better. Second, attention to market plumbing — corporate bond research that ignores dealer intermediation costs and stale quotes produces backtests no desk can trade. The intersection with machine learning is growing fast, but the base rates favor parsimonious models in this asset class more than anywhere else.

This paper presents a financial statement analysis that distinguishes leverage that arises in financing activities from leverage that arises in operations. The
This paper provides insight into the estimation and asymptotic behavior of parameters in interest rate models, focusing primarily on the Cox-Ingersoll-Ross (CIR) process and its extension – the more general Chan-Karolyi-Longstaff-Sanders (CKLS) framework ($α\in[“0.5,1”]$). The CIR process is widely
The financial industry has undergone a significant transition from the London Interbank Offered Rates (LIBORs) to Risk Free Rates (RFRs) such as, e.g., the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) in the U.S. and the Cash Rate (AONIA) in Australia, as primary benchmark rates for borrowing costs. The
This paper presents a dynamic game framework to analyze the role of large banks in interbank markets. By extending existing models, we incorporate a large bank as a dynamic decision-maker interacting with multiple small banks. Using the mean-field game methodology and convex analysis, best-response
In this paper, I examine why some firms have zero leverage. I fail to find evidence that firms are unlevered because of managerial entrenchment since these firms do not have weaker corporate governance. I reject the hypothesis that firms become zero-leverage after prolonged periods of high market va
We present a function-valued stochastic volatility model designed to capture the continuous-time evolution of forward curves in fixed-income or commodity markets. The dynamics of the (logarithmic) forward curves are defined by a Heath-Jarrow-Morton-Musiela stochastic partial differential equation mo
The phenomenology of the forward rate curve (FRC) can be accurately understood by the fluctuations of a stiff elastic string (Le Coz and Bouchaud, 2024). By relating the exogenous shocks driving such fluctuations to the surprises in the order flows, we elevate the model from purely describing price
We study the Volterra Volterra Cox-Ingersoll-Ross process on $\mathbb{R}_+$ and its stationary version. Based on a fine asymptotic analysis of the corresponding Volterra Riccati equation combined with the affine transformation formula, we first show that the finite-dimensional distributions of this
We develop moment estimators for the parameters of affine stochastic volatility models. We first address the challenge of calculating moments for the models by introducing a recursive equation for deriving closed-form expressions for moments of any order. Consequently, we propose our moment estimato
Affine Diffusion dynamics are frequently used for Valuation Adjustments (xVA) calculations due to their analytic tractability. However, these models cannot capture the market-implied skew and smile, which are relevant when computing xVA metrics. Hence, additional degrees of freedom are required to c
The stochastic-alpha-beta-rho (SABR) model has been widely adopted in options trading. In particular, the normal ($β=0$) SABR model is a popular model choice for interest rates because it allows negative asset values. The option price and delta under the SABR model are typically obtained via asympto
This paper analyzes the flow of state pension benefit payments relative to asset levels and contributions. Assuming future state contributions fund the full pre
Finding similar bonds remains challenging in fixed-income analytics, as numerical financial attributes often overshadow categorical non-financial ones such as issuer sector and domicile. This paper shows that these categorical attributes dominate the predictability of spread curves and proposes embe
In the LIBOR era, banks routinely tied revolving credit facilities to credit-sensitive benchmarks. This study assesses the Across-the-Curve Credit Spread Index (AXI) – a transparent, transaction-based measure of wholesale bank funding costs – as a complement to SOFR, summarizing its behavior, cons
Stablecoins represent a critical bridge between cryptocurrency and traditional finance, with Tether (USDT) dominating the sector as the largest stablecoin by market capitalization. By Q1 2025, Tether directly held approximately $98.5 billion in U.S. Treasury bills, representing 1.6% of all outstandi
An important step in the Financial Benchmarks Reform was taken on 13th September 2018, when the ECB Working Group on Euro Risk-Free Rates recommended the Euro Short-Term Rate ESTR as the new benchmark rate for the euro area, to replace the Euro OverNight Index Average (EONIA) which will be discontin
This note explores the theoretical justification for some approximations of arithmetic forwards ($F_a$) with weighted averages of overnight (ON) forwards ($F_k$). The central equation presented in this analysis is: \begin{equation*} F_a(0;T_s,T_e)=\frac{1}{τ(T_s,T_e)}\sum_{k=1}^K τ_k \mathcal{A}_k F
Due to the recent increase in interest in Financial Technology (FinTech), applications like credit default prediction (CDP) are gaining significant industrial and academic attention. In this regard, CDP plays a crucial role in assessing the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses, enabling le
This review considers the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) valuations from 2014 to 2023. USS is a 70-80 billion GBP Defined Benefit pension scheme with over 500,000 members who are employed (or have been employed) at around 70 UK universities. Disputes over USS have led to a decade of indust
Assessing the costs of climate change is essential to finding efficient pathways for the transition to a net-zero emissions economy, which is necessary to stabilise global temperatures at any level. In evaluating the benefits and costs of climate change mitigation, the discount rate converting futur
