Derivatives pricing is quantitative finance’s oldest deep-math tradition, and this hub holds the collection’s densest concentration of stochastic calculus. The research spans pricing models (jump diffusions, stochastic volatility, rough volatility), numerical methods (Monte Carlo variants, PDE solvers, ML surrogates for high-dimensional pricing), and the newer deep hedging literature that learns hedge ratios directly under transaction costs.
The quadrant system earns its keep here: much of this work is mathematically airtight but empirically untested (“Lab Rats” in our scoring), which is fine for pricing engines and dangerous for trading claims. When a paper proposes a new model, the questions that matter are calibration stability — does it fit today’s surface without absurd parameters tomorrow — and hedging performance out of sample, not merely in-sample fit to option quotes.

We study an American option pricing problem with liquidity risks and transaction fees. As endogenous transaction costs, liquidity risks of the underlying asset are modeled by a mean-reverting process. Transaction fees are exogenous transaction costs and are assumed to be proportional to the trading
Following the foundational work of the Black–Scholes model, extensive research has been developed to price the option by addressing its underlying assumptions and associated pricing biases. This study introduces a novel framework for pricing European call options by modeling the underlying asset’s
A self-exciting point process with a continuous-time autoregressive moving average intensity process, named CARMA(p,q)-Hawkes model, has recently been introduced. The model generalizes the Hawkes process by substituting the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck intensity with a CARMA(p,q) model where the associated st
This research presents a comprehensive framework for transitioning financial diffusion models from the risk-neutral (RN) measure to the real-world (RW) measure, leveraging results from probability theory, specifically Girsanov’s theorem. The RN measure, fundamental in derivative pricing, is contrast
In decentralized finance, any individual can pool their assets into an automated market maker (AMM) – herein we focus on the constant product market maker (CPMM) – in exchange for a claim on a fraction of future pool assets and fees earned from the market making operations. This position is repres
This paper develops a coupled model for day-ahead electricity prices and average daily temperature which allows to model quanto weather and energy derivatives. These products have gained on popularity as they enable to hedge against both volumetric and price risks. Electricity day-ahead prices and a
Deep hedging is a deep-learning-based framework for derivative hedging in incomplete markets. The advantage of deep hedging lies in its ability to handle various realistic market conditions, such as market frictions, which are challenging to address within the traditional mathematical finance framew
Deep hedging is a framework for hedging derivatives in the presence of market frictions. In this study, we focus on the problem of hedging a given target option by using multiple options. To extend the deep hedging framework to this setting, the options used as hedging instruments also have to be pr
We study the binomial, trinomial, and Black-Scholes-Merton models of option pricing. We present fast parallel discrete-time finite-difference algorithms for American call option pricing under the binomial and trinomial models and American put option pricing under the Black-Scholes-Merton model. For
Stochastic Gradient Descent Langevin Dynamics (SGLD) algorithms, which add noise to the classic gradient descent, are known to improve the training of neural networks in some cases where the neural network is very deep. In this paper we study the possibilities of training acceleration for the numeri
This paper describes a fast and stable algorithm for evaluating Bermudan swaption under the two factor Hull-White model. We discretize the calculation of the expected value in the evaluation of Bermudan swaption by numerical integration, and Gaussian kernel sums appears in it. The fast Gauss transfo
On April 20, 2020, the May front-month WTI oil futures contract, one day before its expiration date, opened near $$17/$barrel and dropped far below zero in a single trading day, reaching an intraday low of $-$40.32$ and settling at $-$37.63$. Such market behavior was unforeseen at the time. This
We develop a quantum algorithm to price discretely monitored lookback options in the Black-Scholes framework using imaginary time evolution. By rewriting the pricing PDE as a Schrodinger-type equation, the problem becomes the imaginary time evolution of a quantum state under a non-Hermitian Hamilton
This paper develops a robust mathematical framework for Constant Function Market Makers (CFMMs) by transitioning from traditional token reserve analyses to a coordinate system defined by price and intrinsic liquidity. We establish a canonical parametrization of the bonding curve that ensures dimensi
The paper employs sophisticated financial models (DCF, option pricing, risk decomposition) requiring advanced math, and its empirical component is data-heavy, featuring historical time-series analysis, implied premium calculations from market prices, and country-specific risk scores, making it backt
We study two complementary methodologies for calibrating implied volatility surfaces: analytical approximations and data-driven models based on rough path theory. On the analytical side, we revisit a second-order asymptotic expansion for the Heston model, and we propose a new, VIX-based calibration
The cryptocurrency options market is notable for its high volatility and lower liquidity compared to traditional markets. These characteristics introduce significant challenges to traditional option pricing methodologies. Addressing these complexities requires advanced models that can effectively ca
Recognizing the importance of jump risk in option pricing, we propose a neural jump stochastic differential equation model in this paper, which integrates neural networks as parameter estimators in the conventional jump diffusion model. To overcome the problem that the backpropagation algorithm is n
This paper develops and estimates a multivariate affine GARCH(1,1) model with Normal Inverse Gaussian innovations that captures time-varying volatility, heavy tails, and dynamic correlation across asset returns. We generalize the Heston-Nandi framework to a multivariate setting and apply it to 30 Do
We use granular regulatory data on euro interest rate swap trades between January 2021 and June 2023 to assess whether derivative positions of Italian banks can offset losses on their debt securities holdings should interest rates rise unexpectedly. At the aggregate level of the banking system, we f
