Derivatives pricing is quantitative finance’s oldest deep-math tradition, and this hub holds the collection’s densest concentration of stochastic calculus. The research spans pricing models (jump diffusions, stochastic volatility, rough volatility), numerical methods (Monte Carlo variants, PDE solvers, ML surrogates for high-dimensional pricing), and the newer deep hedging literature that learns hedge ratios directly under transaction costs.
The quadrant system earns its keep here: much of this work is mathematically airtight but empirically untested (“Lab Rats” in our scoring), which is fine for pricing engines and dangerous for trading claims. When a paper proposes a new model, the questions that matter are calibration stability — does it fit today’s surface without absurd parameters tomorrow — and hedging performance out of sample, not merely in-sample fit to option quotes.

This paper develops a new dual approach to compute the hedging portfolio of a Bermudan option and its initial value. It gives a “purely dual” algorithm following the spirit of Rogers (2010) in the sense that it only relies on the dual pricing formula. The key is to rewrite the dual formula as an exc
This study examines the performance of a volatility-based strategy using Chinese equity index ETF options. Initially successful, the strategy’s effectiveness waned post-2018. By integrating GARCH models for volatility forecasting, the strategy’s positions and exposures are dynamically adjusted. The
This paper aims to develop a supervised deep-learning scheme to compute call option prices for the Barndorff-Nielsen and Shephard model with a non-martingale asset price process having infinite active jumps. In our deep learning scheme, teaching data is generated through the Monte Carlo method devel
We consider two data driven approaches, Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Deep Trajectory-based Stochastic Optimal Control (DTSOC) for hedging a European call option without and with transaction cost according to a quadratic hedging P&L objective at maturity (“variance-optimal hedging” or “final quadr
We provide an efficient and accurate simulation scheme for the rough Heston model in the standard ($H>0$) as well as the hyper-rough regime ($H > -1/2$). The scheme is based on low-dimensional Markovian approximations of the rough Heston process derived in [“Bayer and Breneis, arXiv:2309.07023”], an
We introduce a Path Shadowing Monte-Carlo method, which provides prediction of future paths, given any generative model. At any given date, it averages future quantities over generated price paths whose past history matches, or shadows’, the actual (observed) history. We test our approach using path
We consider the supervised learning problem of learning the price of an option or the implied volatility given appropriate input data (model parameters) and corresponding output data (option prices or implied volatilities). The majority of articles in this literature considers a (plain) feed forward
The Greeks Delta and Gamma of plain vanilla options play a fundamental role in finance, e.g., in hedging or risk management. These Greeks are approximated in many models such as the widely used Variance Gamma model by Fourier techniques such as the Carr-Madan formula, the COS method or the Lewis for
We consider the Fourier-Laplace transforms of a broad class of polynomial Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) volatility models, including the well-known Stein-Stein, Schöbel-Zhu, one-factor Bergomi, and the recently introduced Quintic OU models motivated by the SPX-VIX joint calibration problem. We show the co
As option markets grow and AI advances, agentic systems for option trading are gaining increasing attention. Language-model-based agents can reason over contextual information such as news, but option trading presents a particularly challenging decision problem: a single stock can have thousands of
This paper examines whether a cointegration-based pairs trading strategy between PepsiCo and The Coca-Cola Company is statistically robust and economically exploitable. We first test for cointegration and estimate the spread’s mean-reversion dynamics over 2013-2018, then hold these statistical param
We present an end-to-end deep learning framework for systematic options trading that directly embeds hedging behavior through explicit control of portfolio-level risk exposures. While neural networks trained to optimize risk-adjusted performance have been shown to outperform traditional rules-based
Short-horizon risk control matters for hedging and capital allocation. Yet existing Value-at-Risk studies rarely address standardized option books or the next-day valuation frictions that arise in derivatives data. This paper develops a framework for tail-risk control in standardized option books. T
Shorting for hedging exposes to risk when the market dynamics is uncertain. Managing uncertainty and risk exposure is key in portfolio management practice. This paper develops a robust framework for dynamic minimum-variance hedging that explicitly accounts for forecast uncertainty in volatility esti
This paper studies the problem of hedging and pricing a European call option under proportional transaction costs, from two complementary perspectives. We first derive the optimal hedging strategy under CARA utility, following the stochastic control framework of Davis et al. (1993), characterising t
Calibration to a surface of option prices requires specifying a suitably flexible martingale model for the discounted asset price under a risk-neutral measure. Assuming Brownian noise and mean-square integrability, we construct an over-parameterized model based on the martingale representation theor
This article proposes a calibration framework for complex option pricing models that jointly fits market option prices and the term structure of variance. Calibrated models under the conventional objective function, the sum of squared errors in Black-Scholes implied volatilities, can produce model-i
Simulating realistic financial time series is essential for stress testing, scenario generation, and decision-making under uncertainty. Despite advances in deep generative models, there is no consensus metric for their evaluation. We focus on generative AI for financial time series in decision-makin
This paper examines systematic put-writing strategies applied to S&P 500 Index options, with a focus on position sizing as a key determinant of long-term performance. Despite the well-documented volatility risk premium, where implied volatility exceeds realized volatility, the practical implementati
Traditional approaches to estimating beta in finance often involve rigid assumptions and fail to adequately capture beta dynamics, limiting their effectiveness in use cases like hedging. To address these limitations, we have developed a novel method using neural networks called NeuralBeta, which is
